If there was one thing in Altador that's bigger than every single pokemon in the world, it would be his ego.
Arma already had his doubt when Al insisted on entering the sculpting contest for the Festival. and the meowstic insisted heavily that he should do it alone and the sandshrew should just prepare for his story telling contest, that was the final sign for Arma that the sculping contest will end up in a massive disaster for his team.
His fear wasn't unreasonable. When Arma finished his own story telling competition and check on his partner on ice sculping contest, he slapped his own fae for not figuring out what the narcissistic meowstic would make beforehand.
Of course it had to be a sculpting of himself.
"The title of my work is 'The Greatest Being Ever Live'" Altador proudly presented his work to the judge, with a wide enough grin as if he was the victor already.
The judge, an old smeargle, raised her glasses, "But this is a sculpting of you, right down to the little details."
"Exactly!" Al raised his eyebrow, and cocked a sly grin. Arma wished he could just resign from the team right then and now and hide in the ground to save himself from the embarrassment.
The judge ust made some notes on her paper. It seems she was experienced enough in seeing bizarre egocentral works, Al's was just another thing on her list, "That was a fine craftmanship. Where did you learn sculpting?"
Al leaned on the pedestal, admiring his own work as he answered he question, "I have fine teachers taught me the basic back at the castle. I just improve from there."
"Alright, I shall check on the other entries. May we be seeing each other again if your team won the contest." The Smeargle adjusted her glasses as she walked to the next entry.
Al noticed his partner standing not far from his work, and the meowstic pulled the shrew to the pedestal so he an explain the greatness of his artwork. It will be a looong night for Arma.
